We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Education Support Specialist to join this team. The Education Support Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of children enrolled in the early learning programs. This position offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young learners and contribute to their academic and social-emotional growth.
What you get to do:
· Greet and interact with visitors, families, children, elders, and staff with courtesy and high-quality customer service that is reflective of a positive, nurturing environment
· Assist the Director with daily functions by providing information upon request, copying, scanning, faxing, filing and maintaining an organized filing and storage system
· Answer incoming phone calls and distributes messages as needed, in a professional, timely, courteous, and confidential manner
· Maintain confidentiality for all children, families, and staff; exercises appropriate discretion in information sharing with other staff as it applies to job responsibilities on a need-to-know basis
· Retrieve mail daily, processes mail as directed, and responds to correspondence as needed
· Work closely with classroom staff to verify daily attendance reports, call parents when a child is absent, or call parents when a child needs to be picked up early due to illness
· Provide relief in the classroom, and supervision of children for the classroom staff
· Perform data collection and entry for program operations
· Prepare purchase orders, calendars, notices home to parents, newsletters, and other documents as requested
· Maintain updated inventory of program resources and materials and prepares resupply orders as needed
· Keep office clean, presentable, and professional including front desk, waiting areas, hallway/entry, and storage areas
· Assist as a bus monitor when needed
· Attend training as relevant to staff development plans; maintains current certification for First Aid, CPR, Food Handler’s Permit, and health checks; complies with CPS mandated reporting requirements for child abuse and neglect
· Perform other duties as assigned
What you need to be successful:
· Experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting.
· Understanding of diverse learning styles and ability levels
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external partners.
· Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
Pay: $18.81-$25.36 (DOE)
Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 5:00PM
