Samish Bay is a dairy farm, dairy products manufacturer, and meat producer. We have been in business since 1999. Our product is widely distributed, well known and loved in the Puget Sound area and beyond. We sell directly to the public at our farm store and at farmers markets in the Seattle area and Northwest Washington. We sell to retailers, restaurants, schools, and other food service operations both directly and through distributors. We have been certified organic since our beginning.

Job Summary

Samish Bay is in need of a key employee in this new position to help us succeed in our current stage of dynamic growth. This person will work closely with the Owners and support the Management Team.

Functional responsibility for all daily bookkeeping and accounting processes, composing regular financial reports, and maintaining organizational record-keeping. Assist Owners with a number of regular responsibilities and as needed.

Essential Functions

Use of the following software: QuickBooks, Square POS, Local Food Marketplace (Puget Sound Food Hub platform), Microsoft Suite.

Responsible for all aspects of A/R, A/P, Payroll, and all other accounting activity as required.

Customer statements, follow up to collect past due, communicate collection problems to owners and sales staff. Recommend any holds on selling to past due customers

Administer SNAP/EBT

Process biweekly payroll

Prepare Quarterly/Annual payroll tax filing including B&O, L&I, etc.

Prepare Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual financial statements and sales summaries

Maintain detailed, supporting documentation as ready reference of any recorded transaction

Communicate with and maintain healthy relationships with customers and suppliers as required.

Support organization by executing basic HR administrative responsibilities including new employee documentation

Assist with some purchasing

Maintain a number of spreadsheets

Maintain Mailchimp audience and send out weekly Mailchimp emails

Assist Owner with Organic Certification documentation and regulatory compliance

Keep office equipment functioning and supplies maintained

Retail Shop coverage during shop employee breaks

· Flexible to work independently or as part of a team.· ·

· Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Required Skills & Experience

· Advanced use of QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel

· Speed/Accuracy on ten key

· 2+ years experience bookkeeping

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 35+ hours/week
