This is supported by a Pre-op unit and PACU Phase 1 and Phase 2 units. We have a team focus in caring for our patients and a team approach to on-boarding new team members. Surgery types performed here include Open Heart Vascular Robotic General Orthopedic ENT GYN and Urologic surgeries. Patient acuity ranges from simple outpatient surgeries to complex surgeries on patients with multiple health issues. We provide care and services to a large regional area that includes all of Kitsap County and as far north as Port Townsend and Port Angeles along the Straits of Juan de Fuca.Role:PACU RN position is responsible for providing Perianesthesia nursing care of all patient populations undergoing surgical procedures to include ambulatory acute and chronic patient care. Assumes responsibility and accountability for the direct and indirect implementation of the patient’s plan of care in the PACU Phase 1 and Phase 2. Assist with care and preparation of patients in the Pre-op unit when needed.QualificationsJob Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing BSN preferred

Minimum 1-2 years previous RN experience in ER ICU or high level step down unit required.

1-2 years current experience in an acute inpatient PACU setting within the last 3 years strongly preferred

Experience with airway emergencies (i.e. laryngospasms airway obstruction stridor and arrest).

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing.

Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within six months of date of hire.

Certified Perianesthesia Nurse (CPAN) or Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPA) preferred.
