SpecialtyVETPATH is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Medical Courier. Our small specialty laboratory provides pathology services to veterinary clinicians throughout the United States. The Medical Courier is responsible for picking up patient samples from our clients in the greater Puget Sound region.
Position available:
Part time (3 shifts per week), night shift, currently approximately 4 hours per shift
$19-21/hour DOE
Car and company auto insurance provided; the courier car is kept at our location and the shift/route starts and ends at the laboratory. Our laboratory is located in Seattle’s Interbay neighborhood.
Requirements:
Minimum age 21 years
Excellent driver with a clean driving record
Cell phone plan with unlimited data
Love animals
Able to work with minimal supervision, but with a good team player mentality
Reliable and motivated
Efficient and organized
High attention to detail
Conscientious of resources used and environmental issues
Knowledge of basic computer operations and programs
Good critical thinking and time management skills
Good communications skills
Able to lift up to 50 lbs
Interest in veterinary and/or laboratory medicine a plus
Prior courier and/or customer service experience desirable but not required
Must be available for onboarding and training (flexible scheduling but requires day ability to attend two 4 hour trainings during the daytime shift (7am-6 pm)
Responsibilities:
Verify courier pickup list and plan route based on submissions received via our client portal
Perform courier run, picking up sample submissions from veterinary practices in the greater Puget Sound region.
Log all samples at pickup; as needed, communicate with front desk staff (for 24 hr hospitals) to ensure that all samples are accounted for; document any missing samples or other discrepancies
Log all samples on delivery to the laboratory
Ensure proper storage of samples while awaiting accessioning
