Overview
Looking for a full-time Journeyman Diesel Mechanic in Chehalis & Tacoma. We are a family-owned full service Trucking company for construction projects. We offer competitive wages and benefits. Candidate will be expected to keep dump trucks running and maintained. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently and collaboratively to ensure the optimal performance of our fleet.
Requirements:
· Self-Motivated – preventative maintenance/service on equipment with little or no supervision
· Maintain complete and accurate paperwork / maintenance records
· Repair and troubleshoot components such as electrical, brakes, tires, hydraulic systems and fabrication
· Welding repair of trailer and/or truck parts
· Ability to do everything outside the motor and power train ideal. Internal motor work not required
· Perform complete safety checks
· Ability to order parts and maintain positive relationships with drivers and vendors
· Ability to work in a shop and in the field as necessary
· Function as a team player
· “Can do” attitude – willing to learn new things
· Perform work and operate vehicles in a safe manner
· Supply his/her own tools (specialty tools can be provided)
· Valid WA state Driver’s License – CDL preferred (not required)
· Drug Free
Responsibilities
Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines and related systems, including transmissions, air brakes, and hydraulics.
Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to ensure vehicle safety and performance.
Utilize hand tools and equipment to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues.
Collaborate with team members to address complex repairs and provide excellent customer service.
Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Operate heavy equipment as needed, adhering to all operational guidelines.
Schedule can be flexible but the willingness to work some swing shift hours and some weekends is a plus. A year-around full-time position is preferred.
