Western Neon is looking for a vinyl tech / shop helper with an emphasis on graphics installation and light-duty machine work. Ideally you would have sign-shop experience installing vinyl with a love for tangible hands-on work, computer/software driven work, and a passion for making things.

What you’ll be doing:
Every day will be different, but your day will consist of a combination of field work and shop work:
Field Work:
Installing vinyl and signage in the field you will be driving in the work vehicles to locations around the Seattle area interacting with clients and installing vinyl and some light dimensional signage using hand and light-duty power tools.
Shop Work:
In the shop you will be working independently to produce a variety of dimensional signage. You will work an engraver (braille & ADA), laser machine, large-format printer, direct UV printer, plotter, and laminator all in the production of large and small-scale signage. When there is not graphics work you may be asked to assist in other areas of the shop like assembly and fabrication.
List of Duties and Responsibilities -
Vinyl/Latex Print Responsibilities:
Creating clean and scaled artwork from approved proofs
Cutting, weeding and taping of all vinyl
Installation in the shop or in the field, includes meeting with clients on site
Maintenance and troubleshooting of Latex printer & plotter
Color matching to client provided specs
Lamination and contour cutting digital prints
Checking stock and ordering vinyl/media as needed
Accurately printing patterns for departments and installation needs
Machine Responsibilities:
Maintenance, troubleshooting and operation of Laser, Engraver, 3D print and Direct print machines
Checking stock and ordering of materials as needed
Efficient and Effective completion of projects in the vinyl/machine department:
Planning your week to effectively use your time to complete all projects by or before their due dates.
Following instructions either written or verbal per project. There will be a mixture of both.
Understanding where projects are in the shop and when they will be in your department.
Keeping in mind aesthetic expectations of produced work.
Effective organization of Vinyl/Machine room.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
