GMD Custom is seeking a tenant improvement commercial construction foreman/forewoman/foreperson who will also serve as a project manager as necessary.

GMD Custom is a progressive general contractor working in the Seattle area specializing in building and renovating restaurants, cafes and many other small to midsized boutique commercial spaces. This position has a high level of communication involved. As the point person on site you will be updating the senior project manager and owners about what is happening in real time on the project. You will need to be highly attentive to specificity and coordinating between our employees, subcontractors on site, architects, clients and everyone associated with the project. You will have lots of support from senior members of management and will be guided through our specific ways of conducting a business.

Construction experience is a must, it’s a bonus if your experience is in commercial construction especially tenant improvement work.

You may be a good fit if your leadership skills and your extensive experience have earned you the ability to direct the work of others and make quick decisions. You must be well-organized, good at communication and highly flexible.

Requirements and skills

Have a reliable vehicle and valid drivers license

In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, and equipment

Excellent organizational and leadership skills

Live in or near Seattle

Ability to communicate and report effectively

Highly flexible and able to change course quickly

Problem-solving abilities
