ROOF & SIDING INSPECTOR

Our group of consultants and design professionals specializing in Building Envelope has an available opportunity for a Roof & Siding Inspector. We work on a variety of projects including custom single-family homes, apartments buildings, condominium buildings, and commercial buildings. Our expertise is used in both new construction and rehabilitation of existing buildings. JOB SUMMARY
Job type: Full-time position as Roof & Siding Inspector. Please note this is not a remote or work-from-home position.
Compensation: We offer a competitive salary DOE. Benefits include holidays, sick leave, and personal time off. Starting salary range for this position is $25-35 / hour depending on experience and abilities of the applicant.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must have good understanding of conventional wood frame construction.
Must have experience in roofing or siding installations or inspections. Minimum 2 years verifiable experience required.
Must be able to work in elevated areas and not be afraid of heights.
Should be experienced in the use of safety equipment.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Must be comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously, under tight deadlines.
Must be self-motivated, and able to prioritize tasks and time.
Must be well versed in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
Reliable transportation is required for travel to various project locations (paid mileage).
Ability to maintain confidentiality or sensitive information.
Must be drug free and have the ability to pass a background check.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Associate certificate or diploma in any type of construction or inspection related areas is desirable, but not required.
Excellent writing skills are highly desirable.
A degree in architecture, engineering or trade is highly desirable, but not required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend weekly meetings with senior staff to understand applicable metrics of inspections.
Ability to research and study applicable construction documents necessary for inspections.
Coordinate with senior staff/management pertaining to individual project goals and budgets.
Conduct field site visits to carry out necessary inspections.
Document field conditions as needed, by use of digital photographs, diagrams, notes.
Compose summary reports in writing (Word format) for review by senior staff.
Observe required safety measures while on site, including use of personal protective gear and fall restrain equipment, as appropriate.
Conduct yourself in a professional manner with staff, clients, and construction peers.
Communicate using clear, concise, and proactive communication skills.
Manage available resources effectively.
Other duties typical of industry-standard for the position.
CONTINUING EDUCATION:
Participate and collaborate with our in-house consulting team during education periods.
Research ways to improve current technical knowledge.
Maintain current licenses/certifications and acquire new qualifications as needed.
Self-motivated.
