The Opportunity:

As a Loss Consultant – Sales Associate at Golden Coast Construction & Restoration your sales and work will primarily be performed outside of the office at prospective customers' property. This is an outside sales position exempt from overtime labor law requirements. The position requires your flexibility with respect to job hours, accountability for performing tasks within required time frames and unique requirements for each project. The work requires concentration and focus with a complete degree of professionalism that the customer and company require. You need a willingness to be flexible in job assignments and assist others when it is in the best interest of the company to do so. Emphasis is placed on meeting the company expectations regarding work standards, quality, turnaround time, cost, collections, and profit margins. You will be required to sell company services in an environment where the customer may be under extreme stress.

Primary responsibilities may include the following:

Generate contacts and develop business relationships with insurance adjusters, insurance brokers & agents, property managers, risk managers, fire department personnel, building department personnel, and fellow industry vendors.

Meet with disaster victims (prospective customers) to offer assistance, provide guidance, share ideas and solutions, and gather information.

Offer, provide and coordinate emergency services to ensure that the customer's needs are met, and that our company can complete the proposed services at required profit margins. Services should always be completed in the shortest time possible without sacrificing quality and accuracy. Complete all services with a sense of urgency.

Get authorization and approval for your services from the customer and/or insurance claims or Fire Department personnel.

Have the prospective customer sign a Emergency Services Work Authorization for the completion of emergency services or their repair project as quickly as practical.

o Representation Authorization should generally be signed by the customer at the initial site consultation, or at a “next day” follow-up meeting. The Representation Authorization allows work to commence in the shortest time possible. This authorization outlines services and assistance that will be provided by GCCR in advance of executing a binding repair contract This minimizes the impact of insurance company delays and strengthens the trust and relationship with the customer, minimizing the chance of losing the job to others.

o Emergency Services are generally required in the hours following a fire, or other property damage. These emergency services should be sold based on time and services rendered and will not generally be estimated in advance.

Gather insurance coverage information from the customer and assist the customer in filing a claim if necessary. Discuss the claim process and schedule for clarity with the customer. Obtain the signed HIC from customer when an undisputed repair estimate has been agreed with insurance carrier.

Work with the estimating & production departments to ensure a smooth transition from sales to estimating, and ultimately to production. Participate in a weekly pending sales meeting to stay informed of project status.

Stay in communication with your customer throughout the course of the project to assist in problem resolution and avoid the appearance of seeming "detached".

Assist the company in the recruitment and retention of quality personnel, to ensure the highest quality services to our customers.

Participate in company meetings to assist others, to learn from others, and to keep your supervisor informed of the status of your jobs, customers, and upcoming sales opportunities.

Participate in training programs, seminars, etc. to improve your skills and industry knowledge.

Minimum requirements for consideration for this role are:

4+ years of combined or exclusive experience in restoration, military service, fire services, emergency medical services (EMS), police work, emergency dispatch, construction, or insurance.

2+ years of experience in outside sales or customer service.

Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, including the capacity to lift 25 pounds minimum.

Clean driving record and background check.

Must be available for a flexible work schedule including days, evenings, and/or weekend work.

Understand and work under proper OSHA and safety standards.

Be honest, fair, and ethical in all dealings.

Maintain valid HIS licensure through California CSLB as required by CA law for Home Improvement Contracting sales.

Pre-employment Background and DMV Check Required.

If you are a highly motivated and experienced Sales Associate looking to join a dynamic team committed to excellence in construction, we encourage you to apply. Join us in shaping the future of construction at Golden Coast Construction & Restoration.
