Small remodeling company looking for a framer with experience in framing and other general remodeling work; replacing windows, installing flooring, trim, paint, tile, the things one does in order to remodel a house.
Who this job is for: Anyone with adequate framing and remodeling experience who doesn't want to deal with home owners, finding jobs or worrying about company finances, advertising, taxes or all the things required to run a business. It is for someone who wants to just show up, do good work, is trustworthy and who wants a pay check every week.
What we do and who we are: We're a small 3 man crew that remodels houses (currently in Maple Valley, Des Moines and Tacoma) but generally sticks to the south end with Maple Valley being the furthest we tend to go. I don't work Eastside or north Seattle as the commute is just too bad these days.
We can supply tools to get work done but you are welcome to use what you are comfortable with if you have your own.
Basic Qualifications:
1) Must have some experience as noted in framing and/or residential construction / remodeling. Please provide references and past experience specifics. Ie your skill sets
2) Must be able to work Monday – Friday 6-8 hour days
3) Must be a good communicator, follow orders and be able to work independently while being mindful of details
4) Must have reliable transportation
5) Must be physically able to lift heavy objects (such as large lumber, or concrete bags, etc) This is construction!
6) Must possess a “can do” attitude, be able to improvise and come up with solutions to problems you encounter to push through to get work done. Must work well in a group and are able to take direction when needed.
7) Must be willing to submit to a background check.
8) Must not be addicted to heavy drugs. This excludes legal cannabis or alcohol though these things MUST be done away from the site and never before work!
Working Conditions:
1) In, around, on or under houses
2) All weather
3) We work around sharp tools, nails, ladders, etc. You should have appropriate clothing and boots
Paid by the hour with direct deposit weekly (on Friday). We set you up with geo-tagged clock in and clock out on your smartphone when at the job site.
Schedules are ever changing. Generally, remodeling can be a feast or famine industry. Right now we are all working full time, however on occasion things slow down. I'll do everything in my power to keep you busy but just know that generally that's how things work. If you want full time all the time I would recommend a large company or a union maybe. If you need less than full time, that's okay too.
