MRA (Miovic Reinhardt Associates) seeks a Lead Carpenter / Skilled Carpenter to join our team. As a Lead Carpenter, you will be a skilled and experienced professional responsible for overseeing and executing carpentry tasks in construction projects. Your expertise in carpentry techniques, project management, and team leadership will be instrumental in ensuring the successful completion of projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be leading a team of carpenters, coordinating with other trades, and collaborating with project managers to deliver exceptional results.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and supervise a team of carpenters, providing guidance, support, and direction throughout project execution.

Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan and execute carpentry projects effectively.

Perform skilled carpentry work, including framing, installing doors and windows, trim work, cabinetry, and other woodworking tasks.

Coordinate project activities, including material procurement, scheduling, and subcontractor management, to meet project deadlines.

Communicate regularly with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to provide project updates, address concerns, and ensure client satisfaction.

Troubleshoot issues, resolve conflicts and make decisions to keep projects on track and within budget.

Train and mentor junior carpenters, providing on-the-job instruction and guidance to develop their skills and knowledge.

Document project activities, including daily logs, safety meetings, and progress photos

Work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with supervisor and coworkers

Deliver a very high level of client experience and foster positive client engagement

Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and securing the job site daily

Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations and always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Report incidents and near misses following the established reporting procedures

Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned by site management

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

Smartphone

High school diploma.

(2) - (3) years experience as a foreman or lead carpenter

Proven experience as a carpenter, with demonstrated expertise in various carpentry techniques and practices.

Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role, with strong team management and interpersonal skills.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications accurately.

Thorough knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards applicable to carpentry work.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and project stakeholders.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Proficiency in using carpentry tools and equipment safely and effectively.
