RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate all project details in support of the Project Manager and General Manager, including but not limited to schedules, permits, proposals, estimates, bids, costs, systems, customer communication, etc. He/she must possess a “committed team” attitude in order to carry out the primary functions as set forth below:

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Read and interpret project documents including specifications, standards, applicable codes, plans, etc.

2. Complete quantity, material, and labor takeoffs, analyzing unit pricing and bid effectiveness.

3. Maintain roster of sub-contractors for bidding depth in all categories

4. Negotiate best pricing, including unit pricing as possible, for all purchased items.

5. Attend bid meetings and registrations.

6. Understand competition and customer base for private and public work.

7. Support permits and permitting requirements for all projects.

8. Conduct Job Start meetings with Operations team to launch pre-construction.

9. Assist and support Operations team through project completion.

10. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

Knowledge of:

1. Methods and materials used in general construction and maintenance work

2. Microsoft tools

3. Heavy Bid and Heavy Job

4. Basic Accounting principles

5. Seattle permitting processes

Skill and Ability to:

1. Manage systems and information in Microsoft tools and all other systems platforms

2. Read and interpret maps, sketches, drawings, specifications and technical manuals

3. Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods in unfavorable weather conditions

4. Work independently in the absence of supervision

5. Understand and follow oral and written instructions

6. Prepare written reports and/or forms

7. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing or via radio

8. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

9. Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required

Minimum Requirements

Two (2) plus years of experience as an estimator

Multi-tasking, organization skills & attention to detail a must;

Good Interpersonal Relations skills;

Be a self starter and goal oriented;

Able to innovatively solve problems;

Drug & alcohol testing is a condition of employment;

Must have a valid Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance per State requirements;

Must have reliable transportation;

Current CPR/First Aid Certification desired, but not necessary (willing to obtain certification upon request).
