Founded in 2015, Cascadia Art Museum is dedicated to celebrating the rich tradition of Northwest visual arts and design from 1870–1970. Through groundbreaking exhibitions, publications, and educational programs, we bring this important cultural legacy to our community and visitors from around the world.

Position Summary

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Museum Store Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our museum store. This role is more than retail management—it’s about creating a warm, welcoming environment where every visitor feels connected to the museum. The Store Manager will oversee store operations, support volunteers, collaborate with artists, and contribute to the museum’s vibrant visitor experience. This position works closely with the Director of Operations, the store buyer, and our dedicated volunteer team.

Key Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service and create a positive experience for all visitors.

Oversee daily operations of the Museum Store, including opening/closing, cash handling, and payment reconciliation.

Manage inventory: process new stock, ensure accurate data entry, and coordinate regular inventory audits with volunteers.

Partner with local artists to consign and showcase unique works in the store.

Organize and manage monthly Art Walk events. This includes recruiting local artists, setting up, and coordinating the artwork in the Museum Store.

Train and support store volunteers.

Use point-of-sale (Shopify preferred) to process sales

Perform other duties as assigned to support the museum’s mission.

Qualifications

Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.

Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and manage projects to completion.

Experience with point-of-sale software (Shopify a plus).

Dependable, punctual, and collaborative—able to lead and inspire volunteers.

Minimum age: 18 years.

Ability to lift and carry items up to 30 pounds as needed.

Employment Type: Part-time, non-exempt

Hours: Wednesday through Sunday, 11:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
