TEAM MEMBER OPENING
Once in a super blue moon this day arrives, we need to bring on some new team members! We are looking for TWO motivated, enthusiastic, customer service wizards! A positive attitude and willingness to learn is everything We have the best customers in the world and we need staff that is ready to get to know them and their animals, as well as all about our products and services. It is a commitment we take seriously, and you need to also. Due to scheduling requirements this is NOT a student position.
The requirements:
We are a busy, busy place so you need to be able to hustle and be able to multitask.
We also like to keep things fresh, so don’t be afraid of some cleaning.
We get freight 4 days a week, so there is lifting on a daily basis. You need to be able to lift 40lbs regularly and without assistance.
Our staff is pretty great, so they may become like a second family to you. Like family, we all have our quirky ups and downs, but you need to be a positive person who can work with a variety of people, yet still be productive and effective working solo projects.
We love it when employees arrive with some pet experience and knowledge, but more important is that you are willing to jump in and learn about all the type of animals and products we have.
Customer service experience is very helpful, and a great attitude and desire to help animals and their people is very important to us.
We are open 7 days a week and late in the evenings (6:30pm). Our perfect candidates have open availability, but you must at least have flexible availability to work nights and weekends. A minimum of 3 shifts during a regular week is required, 4 will be preferred. Hours will range from 25 to 35/wk depending on your availability, and we generally run a regular schedule with minimal variations.
We will require that you have reliable transportation and a history of punctuality.
Our point of sale system is quite straight-forward but a comfort with basic computer use and money handling is necessary.
Now the fun stuff you do get to snuggle the hamsters, cuddle the snake, talk to the birds, kiss the puppies, pet the kitties and watch the fish swim in circles! We pay a good starting wage throughout your training period with a performance-based raise at 60 days, then yearly. We provide generous employee discounts, and store credit, and all employees have paid leave based on hours worked and time of service. Full time employees also have accident and life insurance options available.
