POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides front desk and administrative support for the Kent Family Resource Center (KFRC). Reports to community leadership. Will provide a variety of tasks related to assisting families and employee. Will provide support to clients regarding community resources. Has access to protected healthcare information (PHI) or confidential identifiable information (CII), both paper and electronic, as necessary, to perform related job duties and responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Greet all families who enter the facility and be the primary person answering the phone
Provide families with information about center programming and community resources and guide them to effectively access these resources.
Investigate community resources in order to keep up-to-date information and obtain latest information when necessary
In collaboration with other employees, help individuals apply for Medicaid or CHP+ public health insurance, as needed
Screen families to identify programming to support families’ goals and enroll families in center programs and services
Provide administrative support, which may include, but not limited to:
Create/Modify forms
Input and track data such as program attendance
Maintain office supplies, including taking inventory on a regular basis and investigating economical purchases
Work with employee to recruit and support community volunteers and student interns in learning processes, in partnership with other employee
Work with other employee and volunteers to maintain a clean and neat appearance in all parts of the facility
Receive and organize donations
Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of office procedures and efficiency with computer software MS Office 365, including advanced word processing with the ability to write clear and grammatically correct letters, memos, and reports. Experience with spreadsheets and inputting data

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

WORKING REMOTELY:
Working remotely is a benefit of Akin’s flexible workplace, but remote work cannot be offered for all positions. Some positions require daily presence in the office. Remote work arrangements may be adjusted or rescinded based upon business needs. This position will mostly work in the office and not remotely.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard; occasionally to reach, stoop and kneel
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1-2 years of related work experience; Or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the skills and abilities required for the position
Experience working with children and families; including families experiencing poverty and/or inequities
Successful completion of a criminal background check
Must have access to a reliable vehicle and possess a Washington State driver’s license
Successful completion of a drivers check if position requires driving on a regular basis (at least three times per week) or drives clients. Must not have more than two driving incidents within the last three years
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bi-lingual (as needed)
Knowledge of community resources and how to best access those resources
SALARY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
The salary range for this position is $25.07-$34.57. The starting salary range for this position is $25.07-$27.45 DOE for external candidates.
Employees will also receive 10 days of vacation leave each year, one personal day each year, and will accrue one sick day per month (pro-rated for part-time employees). Employees will also enjoy 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year. We also offer EAP and mental health benefits.
