Job Purpose: Lead our youth ministry.
Alive Covenant Church began with a question, “What is God’s dream for the church?” We try to keep getting better and better at living our answers to that question and hope you can help! We are a house church-based church that is focused on following Jesus together and serving the needs of those in our geographical community who could use a little extra love. We live in the beautiful communities of Bainbridge Island, Bremerton, Kingston, Port Gamble, Port Ludlow, Poulsbo, and Silverdale, Washington. Our worship services (2 Sundays a month with all of the house churches) typically draw around 60-80 people and are held at the Sons of Norway Lodge in Poulsbo. Responsibilities:
Develop relationships with youth both in and out of the church and pray for them
Help youth connect with and trust God’s love and follow Jesus
Organize a weekly youth group gathering
Recruit and develop teen leaders
Recruit and develop adult volunteers who support the youth group
Lead two or three youth group retreats annually that are organized by our denomination
Teach a discipleship/confirmation group
Create relationships with the families of youth through regular texts/emails and visits
Maintain budget and annual planning documents
Meet once a week with the pastor for planning and development
Participate in professional development opportunities when available
Advocate for the hopes and concerns of the youth to the pastor, leadership and congregation through
regular updates
Be part of a house church and regularly attend our worship services and other church events
Skills/qualifications:
Follower of Jesus with a growing relationship with Christ
Exhibit love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control
Teaching ability in a large group setting, including public speaking, and in small groups
Communication skills that can be targeted to teens and adults (parents and volunteers)
Organizational skills and proficiency with workplace applications such as Microsoft Office, Google
Workspace, and social media such as Facebook, Instagram, and others
Students say you should be fun, not too strict, well-spoken, enthusiastic, and nice
