We are looking for a metal fabricator to join the Waypoint team. The ideal candidate would have experience working with aluminum, welding, and the ability to read shop drawings. In addition to metal fabrication, we are looking for someone to assist in shop organization, increase productivity and to become UL Certified. A well-rounded applicant is necessary for this position, so please include any other skills you may have on your resume.
Responsibilities:
Help drive increased productivity of the department
Maintain schedule of project due dates including what projects are coming down the line.
Complete material take-offs and work with purchasing department to procure.
Prep projects as appropriate. Cut, grind, weld and outline needed materials to expedite fabrication
Work with department team members to efficiently outline who is responsible for what part of production.
Prep for paint including bondo work as needed.
Organizing department. List of all materials that should be on hand including minimum levels.
Fabrication of both illuminated and non-illuminated signs
Work with the design department for input on construction methods and construction details.
In-House wiring of all electrical signs
Coordinating with UL representatives for application of UL labels
Maintaining all necessary documentation for UL Certification
Assist other departments as needed.
General Duties & Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
Use of company ERP System – ShopVox
Proper use of Hand and Power tools
Ensure tools and equipment are functioning properly.
Keep workspace clean and organized.
Participate in shop safety training.

This is a full-time, hourly position.
