Automatic Products is a busy Sumner Machine Shop manufacturing parts for both commercial and aerospace customers. We are currently looking for a Logistics Lead who will oversee Shipping, Receiving and Inventory. We have been in business for over 40 years and continue to grow. Wages are DOE. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Oversee inventory control, material handling, receiving, packaging, shipping and transportation

Hire, train and evaluate employees

Responsible that ALL product is delivered on time, every time

Assure all outgoing product is packaged to prevent damage

Control incoming and outgoing spare parts

Maintain an active and accurate FIFO program

Communicate and review upcoming shipments with appropriate managers and verify needed inventory

Maintain an active cycle counting program. Understand problems encountered and drive corrective action to prevent future problem

Responsible for the coordination and execution of the annual physical inventory

Control the flow of incoming materials and outgoing finished products to ensure customers receive products on time

Ensure all employees follow all safety rules and quality system requirements

This description should not be construed to contain every function that may be required to be performed by a lead in this position. The hours of the job are 6am to 2:30pm, with OT and some Saturdays (depending on workload). This position reports to our Production Manager.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field is considered a plus, but is not required for consideration

Five (5) years of logistic experience is a must, preferably in a machine shop environment.

Three (3) years of supervisory experience is a must.

Experience with Aerospace compliance paperwork would be beneficial.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Excellent communication skills including written, verbal and listening

Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized

Regular and reliable attendance is required

Excellent judgment and decision making abilities

Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, MRP experience would be very helpful

Excellent customer service skills with internal and external customers

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, and are essential functions of performing this job.

Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling objects are necessary daily. Weights can range from 2 to 100 pounds.

Reaching overhead and in front of the body is also necessary on a regular basis.

Audio, visual, and verbal functions are vital aspects in this position.

Use of a computer screen and keyboard is frequent.

Simultaneous movement of hands, wrists, and fingers is an important element.

Driving a forklift, will train on the job.

Operating hand tools is necessary occasionally.
