Position Purpose
This role is responsible for ensuring all High-Level Assemblies (HLA) are manufactured safely, meet all customer requirements for quality and on-time delivery, and are packaged and shipped in accordance with both Qualitel and customer expectations.

KRA 1 – Product Quality
Responsibilities:
Ensure robust, repeatable manufacturing practices, systems, and SOPs are in place to meet all product specifications and quality standards.
Strive for zero Out-of-Box Failures (OBFs) with effective corrective and preventive actions.
Promote work center and worker ownership of quality through training and clear protocols.
Support supervisors with tools, work instructions, and SOPs necessary for high-quality output.
Maintain training systems to ensure a competent workforce.
Minimize rework and increase First Pass Yield (FPY).
Accountability Goals:
FPY > 98% at inspection and test
0% Customer OBFs
Rework/scrap costs due to workmanship errors < 0.10% of $CM in assigned work centers
KRA 2 – Production Output (OTD)
Responsibilities:
Ensure work center schedules are met and monitored daily.
Support supervisors in creating and enforcing daily production schedules.
Proactively address schedule delays and expedite late work orders.
Monitor readiness for upcoming work orders to avoid stoppages.
Track and report work center KPIs: OTD, Quality, Productivity.
Accountability Goals:
99% schedule adherence
Less than 5% overtime
Logged work order hours ≥ 90% of payroll hours
KRA 3 – Lean Thinking
Responsibilities:
Drive lean manufacturing principles and training across all levels.
Ensure participation in Lean initiatives, including 5S, Kaizen, and process flow improvements.
Hold supervisors accountable for applying Lean practices daily.
Accountability Goals:
5% year-over-year labor productivity improvement for existing products
20% first-year labor productivity improvement for new products
KRA 4 – Coaching & Training
Responsibilities:
Implement systems to ensure proper training and task competency, including for cross-trained workers.
Conduct regular resource assessments for tools, equipment, and labor.
Develop advancement paths for leads and supervisors.
Evaluate worker effectiveness and make staffing adjustments as necessary.
Accountability Goals:
100% compliance with Qualitel training records
100% certification/re-certification to industry standards (IPC, J-STD, etc.)
Meet goals in KRAs 1–3
KRA 5 – Materials
Responsibilities:
Maintain safety stock levels and notify Planning or Stores when approaching minimums.
Ensure availability of floor stock to support daily/weekly production.
Prevent use or storage of expired materials; ensure proper labeling and traceability.
Accountability Goals:
99% safety stock compliance
0% stock-outs affecting builds
0 expired materials found during internal/external audits
KRA 6 – Personnel Scheduling
Responsibilities:
Manage personnel coverage for all shifts, including vacation, PTO, and unplanned absences.
Minimize overtime by optimizing staffing plans.
Ensure timely and accurate payroll reporting by supervisors.
Accountability Goals:
Four-week rolling personnel schedules posted weekly
OT maintained within 5% average across work centers
Accurate vacation/time-off schedules posted
KRA 7 – Safety & Compliance
Responsibilities:
Ensure safe work environments, proper PPE use, and worker safety training.
Train leads and supervisors to monitor and report unsafe practices.
Ensure all ESD protocols are followed without exception.
Align all department leaders with company goals, quality policy, and core values.
Accountability Goals:
Zero lost time injuries
Zero ESD violations
Zero major/minor audit findings for non-compliance
Initial Success Factors
1. Implement single-piece flow for existing products to reduce labor time by 20%.
2. Enhance quality control systems to reduce RMA & OBF rates to < 0.25%.
3. Scale department capacity for 50% growth within one year.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Knowledge:
Ability to execute duties with minimal supervision
Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook
Experience with ERP/MRP systems
Strong understanding of quality systems (FDA GMP, ISO13485, AS9100, 21 CFR Part 820)
Familiarity with CAPA and SCAR systems
Education & Experience:
2 years post-high school technical education plus 3 years of related experience
OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Language & Communication:
Read and interpret technical documents, procedures, and regulations
Write reports, procedures, and business correspondence
Present information effectively to managers, clients, and customers
Mathematics:
Strong working knowledge of basic math, percentages, ratios, and graphs
Reasoning Ability:
Solve practical problems with limited standardization
Interpret instructions from written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to sit, talk, and hear
Frequently use hands to handle items
Occasionally lift/move up to 20 lbs
Must possess good vision (close, distance, color, depth, focus)
Moderate noise level work environment
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $90,000 – $130,000 DOE
