Job Description:
We are seeking a Repair Jeweler/Generalist to join our team. As a Repair Jeweler, you will be responsible for assessing, repairing, and restoring a variety of jewelry pieces to their original condition. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent craftsmanship, and a passion for working with precious metals and gemstones as well as clients. We are open to full or part time hours.
Responsibilities:
Meet with clients and inspect jewelry items to identify repair needs.
Provide estimates for repair costs and timelines to customers.
Perform repairs and restoration work using appropriate tools and techniques, including soldering, stone setting, and polishing.
Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and preferences.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a jeweler, with a focus on repair and restoration work is preferred but not mandatory. Will accept art portfolios and school experience as well.
Knowledge of different types of metals and gemstones.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to think on the fly and willingness to help with administrative tasks when needed.
Willingness to learn and tolerance to being interrupted while working.
