Seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented person to join Veris Law Group as a legal assistant/paralegal primarily supporting the firm’s transactions practice. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has experience supporting business and/or real estate transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparing and filing corporate formation and renewal documents.
Preparing and recording deeds and other title documents.
Researching public databases related to entity status, UCC filing, and real estate records.
Supporting the workflow of transactions, including organizing due diligence responses, preparing transaction checklists, compiling execution documents and closing binders, and tracking post-closing deadlines.
Preparing routine corporate governance materials such as meeting notices and agendas and written consents.
Drafting basic form-based documents such as promissory notes, non-disclosure agreements, deeds and deeds of trust.
Coordinating communication between parties, including clients, attorneys, and third-party stakeholders.
Managing deadlines to ensure timely completion of projects and transactions.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree or paralegal certificate or equivalent experience.
At least five years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal, with at least two years’ experience with business and/or real estate transactions.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, and legal research tools.
Experience navigating regulatory forms and processes (e.g UCC filings, deed recording, corporate filings).
