Seattle based law firm is seeking a Washington State licensed attorney in good standing to work on a contract basis as of-counsel to assist in preparing initial drafts for demand letters, pleadings, motions, and appellate briefs. Services may include the following services:
Case file and document review
Legal research
Drafting demand letters and/or Pre-Tort Claims
Drafting Complaint for Damages (State and Federal)
Drafting Answer and Affirmative Defenses to Complaint
Drafting Motions (e.g., Motions to Dismiss, Motions for Summary Judgment, Motions to Vacate)
Drafting Proposed Orders (Findings of Facts and Conclusions of Law)
Drafting Declaration in Support of Motions
Drafting Appellate Briefs
All applicants are required to sign confidentiality agreements. The position may be performed remotely on applicant’s own scheduled hours but must be available for ZOOM and/or Microsoft Team video conferencing to discuss tasks and assess work product.
EXPERIENCE
Licensed in the State of Washington and in good standing. Applicant for the position should have five (5) or more years of experience in state and/or federal cases. Prior experience in drafting motions, pleadings and declarations in the King County Superior Court, Washington State Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington (Seattle) and/or the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals is preferred but not required.
COMPENSATION
$75.00 to $100.00 per hour depending on experience.
