Join our team! WSU Puyallup Research and Extension Center (PREC) is hiring for a Utility Worker/Maintenance Mechanic position (part- or full-time).
Position Overview:
The position performs manual or unskilled work in maintenance, construction, utility systems, farm work, and landscaping work at WSU PREC. The position will primarily be responsible for mowing lawns and fields, weeding and other grounds maintenance duties; building and utilities maintenance; farm and equipment operation and maintenance; and provide relief custodial duties as needed.
Required Qualifications:
-Six months of manual labor experience OR equivalent education/experience
-Must be 18 or older with a valid driver’s license by the time of hire
-Ability to lift 25 pounds, walk, stand, lift, bend, and reach overhead
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience in landscape, construction or maintenance.
-Experience operating motorized equipment such as lawnmowers, tractors and forklifts, hand and power tools, and automotive and farm equipment repair.
