Description: This is an entry level position responsible for performing basic shellfish farming duties - with opportunity for growth!
Duties: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (training provided where necessary):
- Harvest, sort, and grade shellfish.
- Prepare and maintain mussel, oyster and geoduck grounds.
- Construct and maintain shellfish grow out systems.
- Plant and nurse seed.
- Process product for market using quality control methods of safe handling.
- Complete hazard analysis and critical control point documentation.
- Operate vehicles, small boats, motors and other farm equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (training provided where necessary):
- Knowledge of safety and harvest protocols.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Ability and willingness to learn operations of small boats, motors and other farm equipment.
- Ability to perform work under a constantly changing schedule.
- Ability to work with others in team environment.
- Ability to carry out duties in a safe manner using safety and harvest protocols.
- Ability to perform strenuous work in difficult conditions.
Qualifications: - Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to walk long distances in muddy ground.
