Part-Time RV Park Maintenance

The Washington Land Yacht Harbor (WLYH) is a 62 acre residential community, RV Park and event center for members. We are a close community of people who enjoy traveling in their Airstreams. The WLYH consists of 130 RV sites for daily, weekly and monthly rentals. There are also leased residential lots, plus a large and small event venues for members.

Position Overview: The WLYH RV Park Maintenance position assists in the performance of a variety of mid-level and skilled maintenance and restoration duties in RV Park which may include interior and exterior property repairs, water line and irrigation repairs and landscape maintenance.

Responsibilities:

● Perform general building maintenance and repairs including but not limited to: painting, structural repairs, gutter cleaning, cleaning restrooms, floors and common areas.

● Complete preventative maintenance on property and mowing equipment and tools.

● Provide support to vendors and volunteers during preventative maintenance or repair, and work parties.

● Maintain a clean work environment in maintenance shop and various work locations.

● Must be available to work occasional weekends, some holiday work, may include emergency call response.

● Ensure that positive, collaborative internal and external relationships are fostered and maintained and that requests are responded to in a timely manner.

● Understand and follow written and oral instructions.

● Work independently or in a team situation.

Minimum Qualifications:

● Ability to effectively work with other staff, vendors, outside contractors, and volunteers.

● High school diploma or equivalent and skilled training in a building trade or at least one year in skilled property maintenance work.

● Comprehend and communicate in the English language, both orally and in writing with a focus on instructions from supervisor and team members.

● Perform basic math and understand measurement systems used in the trade with ability to use maintenance, trade, and testing equipment and tools.

● Define and solve problems.

● Own and legally operate a motor vehicle, including proof of a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.

● Work in a collaborative manner in a team environment.

● Must be able to pass a background check.

Work Schedule/Compensation:

Flexible work hours, may include weekends, 32 hours per week to start.

Beginning hourly wage based on qualifications and/or experience, $22.50-$25.00 per hour.

The employee will accrue 1 hour of sick/personal time off for every 40 hours worked per calendar year (calendar year commences start date of hire).

The employee will accrue 1 hour of vacation leave for every 40 hours worked starting after one year of continuous employment and additional hours will accrue for each year of employment per accrual schedule.

Paid holidays are New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
