Machine Operator / Forklift Driver

Our client is a major manufacturer and distributor of small metal fabrication parts needed to assemble large aircraft. They are also a major supplier to one of the biggest aircraft manufacturers in the world. We are searching for a smart and diligent Machine Operator and Forklift Driver to join our client’s main operation in Sumner, WA.

Hours: This is a full-time, temp-to-hire position. The early morning shift is from 4 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Please keep in mind that you may be required to work Overtime as needed.

This position is a combination of Machine Operation and utilizing a Sit-Down Forklift. You will:

· Dial buttons on the panel, operating the panel start-stop process

· Measure the metal part, and set the machine to cut to that length

· Confirm the orders that come in, get the measurements, directions, and instructions from the operations team

· Conduct inspections of the product after it’s finished fabricating

· Log the data into the system, and document everything accordingly

· When you are not working on the machine, you will be operating a Sit-Down Forklift, helping to move the products around.

The pay rate for this position is 21 per hour. However, if you do well after your first week, the pay will increase to 23/hour.

Lastly, if you finish all your work on time, you can leave early AND still get paid for the full 8 hours.

This is what we are looking for in your candidacy:

You have at least 1 year of previous Machine Operator experience, preferably in metal manufacturing or something similar

You are experienced and you must possess an OSHA certification to operate a Forklift

You have a high school diploma or preferably a higher level of education.

You are proficient with Hand Tools, most notably, a Tape Measure

You must be computer literate. You know your way around software like MS Office products like Word and Excel.

You have a professional attitude. You strive to get projects done while meeting deadlines.

You are punctual and can arrive at the location on time.

You communicate well, both written and verbal.

You have great math skills.

You are open to working the schedule provided, and you can work Overtime if needed.
