Hello from Frisky Girl Farm! We are an eight acre, woman owned and operated vegetable and flower farm entering our sixth growing season. We have a 200 member CSA, sell to restaurants, attend one weekly farmers market and have a roadside farm stand. Though not certified organic we strive to farm in a way that is good for the planet and good for people. This means using cover crop, compost, crop rotation, and organic pest control methods to increase the sustainability of our farm.

We are looking for one more enthusiastic, hard working folks to join our crew for the 2024 season! Farming can be a lot of hard work, but it is also incredibly rewarding. We are looking for people who are self-motivated, work well as part of a small team, have good problem solving skills and are able to adapt to changing situations. This job is very dynamic; in one day you might harvest and pack for our CSA, do seeding in the greenhouse, move irrigation sprinklers, and help with small construction projects. If you are interested in learning, working hard, and building a career in sustainable agriculture, then we want you! People from diverse background and all walks of life are encouraged to apply; being able to work a physically demanding job in all weather conditions is the most important qualification.

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:

-Field work including greenhouse seeding, transplanting, hand weeding, irrigation management, applying row cover, spreading compost, and moving silage tarps

-Harvest, wash and packing of fresh vegetables for CSA and wholesale customers

-Some light construction duties including helping to build low tunnels, high tunnels, and other small structures.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

-Ability to follow multi-step instructions

-Enjoys working independently and as part of a small team

-Must be prepared to work in all weather conditions

-Must be able to lift 50 lbs

-A drivers license/vehicle access is important (if you live nearby you may be able to bike to the farm, but there are very limited public transit options)

-Comfort with and knowledge of power tools a huge plus!

-A minimum of one season of farming experience

Please note: employees will be responsible for finding their own housing. No on farm housing is available.

This is a seasonal position running until November 1st (with possibility for part time work in November). Hours are Tuesday-Saturday 8am-4pm (will shift to 7am-3pm during peak harvest season) Pay is $18-20/hour (DOE) plus all the fresh veggies and flowers you could want! We are a growing business and would love to find folks who are interested in working with us through multiple seasons.

TO APPLY please email your resume and a statement about why you'd like to work with us. A working interview will be conducted for qualified applicants.
