Job Title: HR Manager (Contract Position)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and bilingual (English/Spanish) HR Manager to join our team on a contract basis. This position requires a hands-on HR professional who is comfortable walking the floor, fostering team building, and resolving conflicts while overseeing various HR functions. The HR Manager will help manage workers' compensation claims, including incident reporting, conducting the interactive process, and coordinating light duty. With a minimum of 5 years of experience in HR, including workers’ comp and training facilitation, the ideal candidate will ensure compliance with legal regulations, support employee engagement, and drive retention strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Walk the floor and engage with employees to foster a positive work environment, address concerns, and encourage team building.

Resolve employee conflicts by providing guidance on appropriate resolutions and ensuring a respectful work environment.

Facilitate employee training and development sessions on topics such as workplace safety, performance reviews, and anti-harassment.

Manage workers' compensation claims, including taking reports, conducting the interactive process, and coordinating light duty assignments.

Oversee recruiting efforts, including establishing relationships with staffing agencies and negotiating contracts.

Ensure compliance with all legal requirements, including maintaining records as mandated by federal and state law.

Administer benefits programs such as health, dental, life insurance, and vacation policies.

Develop and implement new employee orientations to promote a positive attitude towards company goals.

Conduct wage surveys, prepare reports for management, and recommend competitive compensation structures.

Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and programs.

Develop strategies for employee engagement and retention, working to reduce turnover and improve morale.

Prepare draft memos and maintain internal HR documentation.

Ensure that policies and procedures are compliant with labor laws and industry regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervise HR personnel and oversee their daily operations.

Interview, hire, train, and evaluate HR staff, ensuring high-quality work and alignment with company goals.

Administer performance reviews and implement action plans as necessary for HR team members.

Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of HR experience, with a focus on workers' compensation, employee relations, and training facilitation.

PHR or SPHR certification preferred.

Strong knowledge of federal and state HR regulations, including workers' compensation.

Experience with developing and facilitating training programs.

Bilingual in English and Spanish required.

Proficient in HR software, payroll systems, and office applications.

Ability to solve practical HR issues and effectively communicate policies and procedures.

Salary Range:

$38/hr to $45/hr DOE

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources or related field, or a combination of relevant education and experience preferred.

Physical Demands:

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit, and occasionally climb or balance.

Must be able to handle tasks involving manual dexterity and communication, including using a computer and attending meetings.
