Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be providing exceptional customer service and support in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong clerical skills, excellent phone etiquette, and a familiarity with medical office procedures. As an Optometric Assistant, you will contribute to the smooth operation of our practice while ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care. Full-time position (40Hrs.) M-F.

Duties:

Greet patients warmly upon check-in at the front desk.

Schedule appointments and manage patient records.

Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently to maintain up-to-date patient information.

Answer phone calls professionally, addressing inquiries and directing calls as necessary.

Assist in preparing examination rooms and pre-testing patients.

Provide support to optometrists during patient examinations as needed, such as performing OCT scans and Visual Field Testing.

Educate patients on eyewear options, including frames and lenses, while assisting with selections.

Contact lens ordering and stock maintenance.

General office tasks.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a medical office or similar clerical role is preferred, but not required (training can be provided).

Strong data entry skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in patient records.

Excellent phone etiquette with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.

Familiarity with optical terminology or experience as an optical receptionist/assistant is a plus but not required (training will be provided).

Ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
