Staff Accountant

Description We are seeking a meticulous Staff Accountant to be part of our team located in Seattle, Washington. In this role, your main function will be to maintain and control the General Ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization, applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records.Responsibilities: Maintenance of QuickBooks Online Advanced (QBO) and QuickBooks Elite Payroll software Handling of weekly transactions including payroll and end-of-period closing journal entries Checking and filing of support documentation for posted transactions Management of biweekly payroll for submission to payroll accounting vendor Preparation of journal entries for Accounts Receivable, Customer Advance Deposits, and Revenue Filing of all business tax reports monthly Participation in End of Month (EOM) meetings with the Controller and CFO to review EOM reconciliation Reconciliation of the General Ledger biweekly, including distribution of payroll among 8 categories on P & L Completion of Monthly Financial Performance Reports from Excel templates maintained within QBO Assistance in preparing quarterly tax returns Annual budget preparation and issuance of 1041s to all employees and ex-employees by EOM January Management of the issuance of 1099s to all eligible vendors by EOM January Assisting Controller and CFO to close books at End of Year (EOY) so all EOY federal, state, and local tax returns are submitted on a timely basis by EOM February each year Filing of federal 1120s returns by 03.15 the year following the end of each tax year.Skills required: Proficient in QuickBooks Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Proficient in Bank Reconciliations Solid understanding of General Ledger Experience with Journal Entries Proficient in handling Month End Close tasks.The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000 + bonus.Benefits:M/D/V401(k) will be added at EOY 202410 days PTO7 paid holidaysRequirements Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations and General Ledger management Experienced in preparing and posting Journal Entries Capable of performing Month End Close activities with accuracy Proficient in using QuickBooks for accounting tasks Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Must adhere to the highest principles of ethical behavior and professional conduct.
