Description We are in search of a Payroll Specialist who will be based in Seattle, Washington and work a hybrid schedule. This role centers around managing complex payroll activities and providing expert advice on payroll-related matters. The successful candidate will be actively involved in both day-to-day payroll activities and team participation, ensuring that the payroll process runs smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities: Act as an expert on payroll matters, providing advice and addressing internal questions Process staff or complex union payrolls, ensuring accuracy and compliance with union contract provisions Play a key role in internal and external payroll audits, providing necessary support and documentation Assist in reconciling payroll accounts to GL and union reports, identifying and resolving any discrepancies Perform complex payroll processing tasks, including importing files from the timesheet system, running and posting payroll, setting up union pay rates, computing wage and overtime payments, and completing union reporting Maintain system data, including rate changes, garnishments, union dues, 401k, vacation funds, and other deductions Participate in process improvement efforts, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency in the payroll process Provide excellent customer service, consistently meeting or exceeding customer expectations Promote teamwork and a positive working environment within the team Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
