UW Bothell is looking for a knowledgeable and customer-oriented Locksmith to join our Facilities Services and Campus operations team. This is an exciting opportunity to join our Facilities services team in providing quality locksmithing services to our campus community.The ideal Locksmith should be capable of working independently in troubleshooting and completing routine assignments.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform the following typical tasks:
The ideal candidate will have experience in journeyman level locksmith work requiring expertise in installing, maintaining, and repairing different types of building locks including combination key cores, cylindrical, unit, mortise and rim, and reload cylinders, repairing various types of locking mechanisms and other door hardware, as well as locks on desks, file cabinets, display cases, and similar containers.
Rekeying buildings, installs, services, and have good knowledge maintaining electric strikes, magna-locks, motion detectors, card readers, power supplies, circuit breakers, solenoids, transmitter wall switches, automatic door openers and controls, panic bars, door closers, and digital entry systems.
The locksmith will be responsible for cutting new or replacement keys, picks locks for which keys have been lost or broken and makes repairs of locks as required under emergency conditions. The locksmith will also be responsible for surveying building locks and locking systems to determine if adequate building security is provided, maintains building key code records, maintains security with respect to key codes and all mechanical security systems, maintains lock key shop security, maintains an adequate and appropriate stock of locksmith supplies and equipment, and monitors and reports maintenance issues needing attention to the appropriate authority.
Experience with a CMMS system.
Strong Key management experience desired.

Regular and predictable attendance is required.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Three years’ full-time work experience as a locksmith helper/trainee.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS A high school diploma or the equivalent.
A four-year apprenticeship or specific technical training related to locksmithing is preferred.
At least six years of experience as a locksmith and familiarity with Medeco Locking Systems is preferred.CONDITITONS OF EMPLOYMENT Shift: First Shift (Mon-Fri 7:00 A.M. –3:30 P.M.)
