The LiveWell Health Education Specialist is dedicated to promoting health education on the UW campus through programming and outreach. LiveWell is the primary health education unit on campus, and provides a variety of intervention and specialized services. This position will expand the reach LiveWell’s health education on student health issues such as sexual assault prevention/education, alcohol and drug education, mental health and suicide intervention, and other health and wellness topics through programs, events, outreach and marketing.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Health Education Programming

Create, market, and execute high quality prevention education programs that teach risk reduction skills, increase visibility and knowledge of resources for high risk behaviors, and teach life-long skills for the prevention and management of negative health outcomes.

Create, market, and execute health promotion programming to the University community that teaches and encourages evidence-based skills and strategies for improving student health and well-being.

Manage finals Week study break programming

Manage Spring Break and other high-risk holiday event programs

Manage Sexual Assault Prevention Awareness Campaigns

Manage Alcohol and Drug Education Campaigns

Manage Mental Health Campaigns

Manage Healthy Huskies Magazine by updating weekly magazine resources, promoting content, promoting programs and events, and managing the annual campus registration.Program Administration and Development

Develop an educational program strategic plan each academic year for campus wide health education programs and events, including incorporating Peer Health Education.

Conduct needs assessments using a variety of methods including data from American College Health Association annual survey, and NIAA College Aim intervention matrix.

Assess data and findings to design, implement and evaluate the impact of LiveWell programs, events and marketing.

Fiscal management of program resources including holding a procard and managing reconciliation and budgets for programming related costs.LiveWell Marketing Management

Manage LiveWell’s social media platforms to increase visibility and engagement with LiveWell events and services.

Manage the LiveWell website and keep it updated with events, programs, and service information to increase visibility and accessibility to the campus community.

Coordinate and collaborate with the Student Life Marketing team, HFS Marketing team and others to ensure LiveWell events and programs are shared on a wide variety of University platforms.LiveWell Administrative Responsibilities

Work collaboratively and as a part of the LiveWell team on joint projects, staff meetings, grant/funding proposals.

Serve on Student Life and campus-wide committees and panels as a LiveWell Representative.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s Degree.

Two years experience working in a setting that involves education and programming related to health and well-being, OR two years experience marketing events and programs.Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Demonstrated competencies and excellence at strategically managing multiple projects at once with attention to detail and effective time management.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience working in Health Promotion.
