Fishermen’s Terminal Billing Analyst

Some of what you'll be doing:As a Fishermen’s Terminal Billing Analyst, you will facilitate financial control for Commercial Fishing, Commercial, and Recreational vessel facilities. You will provide administrative support for the Fishermen’s Terminal management and front-line operational team.

You will support the Moorage Coordinator in retrieving financial data from various sources to generate billing and verify the accuracy of supporting documentation through various recipients, staff, and customers. You will serve as a key member of the business team for audit and backup purposes.

You will perform reconciliation using technical, analytical, and system skills to ensure billing accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. You will research and process credit adjustments.

You will perform ad-hoc queries to support financial performance tracking. You will research and review revenue trends retrieved from multiple sources. You will track detailed monthly occupancy for all presentations to senior leadership.

You will develop training materials as appropriate for various platforms working alongside the Harbor Business Manager, Moorage Coordinator and Customer Service Representative for operational efficiencies and ensuring separation of duties.

You will support the budgeting process and analyze budget variances and report findings to the business manager. You will develop historical revenue and expense reports to support annual budget forecasting for presentation to senior leadership.

You will provide administrative support to operations and leadership team. You will serve as site SharePoint administrator/coordinator. You will act as a Corporate Purchase Card (P-Card) user and reconcile monthly purchases. You will prepare and process purchase requisitions, and payments requests, monitor expenditures, and resolve and discrepancies.

You will manage project workflow for assigned project tasks. You will create, monitor, and make work plans that include milestones, tasks, and assignments that meet project deadlines. You will collaborate with internal departments to track and show the efficiency of current services provided, process improvements, and impact on overall customer experience and satisfaction.

You will coordinate onboarding activities for new employees, train leadership on various processes, and recommend improvements of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as needed.

You will provide support with utility meter reading every two months. Utility meters are located outside. You will also provide support with outside storage units.

You will perform other duties as assigned.

Who you are:

Experienced – You have three (3) years of experience of accounting process and best practices for research and analysis and reporting of complex data. You have three (3) years of experience with MS Office Suites, SharePoint, and Accounting Software.

Educated – You possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Desired – We hope you have a Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, Maritime Credentials, or equivalent.

You are able to aggregate and analyze data in ways that are meaningful to business operations in a timely manner by analyzing facts and developing conclusions and recommendations.

Technical and Detail Oriented – You have proficiency of software applications with attention to detail and high level of accuracy. You are proficient in Excel.

Communicative – You have effective verbal, written, and active listening communication skills. You write concise, organized, and clear communication to internal and external customers.

What else you need to know:

Work Schedule – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role.

Work Environment - You will primarily work in an office environment. You will occasionally work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.

Safety Requirements – You will be required to comply with all work rules, safety, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.

Grade Review – The pay range and grade for non-represented positions are under review and subject to change as part of the Port’s work to implement a new pay program. This review is intended to ensure that positions are aligned with the new program that will be implemented in early 2024.

Washington State Residency Requirement – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.

Overtime Eligible – You are eligible for overtime pay in this role.
