Environmental Services Technician - Floor Specialist

Description

Providence Mount St. Vincent is looking for a dedicated and energetic Environmental Services Technician to provide general housekeeping support, spending much of their time on the maintenance of our floors, sustaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. Preferred candidates are motivated, meticulous and able to work with numerous interactions. This role is physically demanding and candidates should be comfortable moving heavy objects, including furniture and equipment around 20 - 50 lb.

This opening is for a Sunday - Thursday 10 pm - 6 am shift . Have your days all to yourself and work during hours with fewer interruptions.

General EVS/housekeeping tasks (70%):

Clean offices, hallways, common areas and other spaces

Move furniture before and after cleaning

Measure and label chemicals correctly

Operate chemical dispensing units

Clean, maintain and store equipment proficiently

Report maintenance issues to supervisor

And more tasks as assigned

Floor Specialist tasks (30%):

Remove spots from carpets

Perform bonnet and extraction carpet cleaning

Dispose of trash; assist with hazardous waste collection

Operate floor sweepers, buffers, strippers, canister vacuum cleaners and shop vacuums to clean, repair and refinish floors

Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with chemicals and equipment

Be mindful of slip, trip and fall hazards for our residents

Required qualifications:

Physically agile; ability to lift 50 lb.

Resilient to loud noises

Communication skills

Comfortable with exposure to hazardous chemicals, bodily fluids and communicable and infectious diseases

Preferred qualifications:

High school diploma, GED or suitable experience

Floor maintenance experience
