It requires constant and comprehensive communication to keep the centralized undergraduate advisors stay up to date on curriculum and programmatic matters in the School of Business to ensure correct and relevant advisement of students. The position also requires familiarity with university policies regarding student conduct and privacy so as to provide appropriate guidance to students encountering challenges. The position calls for providing a full range of services to students by leveraging existing resources on campus and organizing others. Information about student success will be kept and reported.This is a new position. Filling it will have a positive impact on the University. It will ensure that student advisement occurs in an optimal manner by providing a reliable bridge between the business school and the centralized advisement team. Students will also be able to access School-specific co-curricular opportunities.All these contribute to overall student success – a University imperative. In the absence of this position, key student needs and expectations will go unmet.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES DELIVERY OF STUDENT-CENTERED SERVICES

Ensures, in partnership with faculty and centralized undergraduate advisors, that School of Business students access high quality integrated academic and co-curricular advising.

Design, organize, and deliver a wide variety of co-curricular programming and opportunities for students.

Ensure the successful implementation of the four-year undergraduate enrollment strategy of the University in terms of student adaptation, integration, progression, and satisfaction.

Resolve student issues, including grade complaints, plagiarism, change of major, discipline, and probationary matters.

Comply with laws regarding student privacy and stay up to date on relevant university policies (e.g., study abroad, financial aid, etc.).

Organize campus wide events to showcase undergraduate School of Business academic programs and co-curricular opportunities to undecided students, including working with first year advisors.

Manage the accreditation required Assurance of Learning process which focuses on student learning outcomes.

Maintain accurate and complete records on student success (e.g., post-graduation outcomes).

Other tasks as assigned.INTERNSHIP AND PLACEMENT

Work closely with faculty in curriculum planning, revisions, and implementation, including incorporation of high impact learning options – internships, overseas study tours, field studies, employer site visits, and such.

Coordinate with the University’s Career Services to ensure School of Business students access that office’s resources, and adapt those resources to the students’ needs as appropriate.

Grow and maintain internship opportunities; ensure internship opportunities are available to students; ensure successful outcomes for students and employers; and monitor and record internship experiences.

Provide support for the organization of international travel/study courses.SUPERVISION AND BUDGETING

Oversee the Mentoring Edge program including supervising the program’s Coordinator.

Manage student scholarship budgets and student support funds/programs in accordance fiscal policies and in compliance with donor expectations (as appropriate).

Monitor functioning of student clubs including budget management in coordination with faculty advisors.

Ensure sound financial decisions and fiscally responsible conduct with respect to expenditures connected with student-focused events.

Craft and present annual funding requests to Student Activities Fee Council and coordinate budget plans with various offices on campus and with the Dean’s Office. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in business, Communications, or related field, with at least five years of experience in Student Services in a comprehensive university.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with varied stakeholders (e.g., students, professional advisors, faculty, employers, and student services professionals).

Ability to learn new systems and technology as required for the job.

Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing).

Strong organization and planning skills, with the ability to establish priorities and organize/execute multi-level tasks/projects, in a timely and accurate manner.

Familiarity with student privacy laws.

Expressed commitment and interest in creating and contributing to an inclusive, diverse, and equitable workplace, aligned with the School of Business Mission, Vision, and Values. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in business, Student Administration, or other related field.

Experience in a business school setting.

Experience with undergraduate student recruitment and/or academic program marketing.

Ability to use Microsoft Office suite of program (Including Excel).

Familiarity with “best practices” in Student Academic Advising.

Familiarity with student privacy laws. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

This is an overtime-exempt professional position.

A regular daily and weekly schedule will be established that coincides with the operating and office hours of the School of Business (M-F, 9:00am- 5:00pm) and will have an assigned workspace in Beardsley Building (Room 252).

This position will require work outside of regular business hours in order to meet student needs.

Limited telecommuting arrangements are feasible.
