Position: Manufacturing Systems Designer

Location: Enumclaw, WA

Application Closing Date: May 31, 2024 or until filled

Compensation: $27.00 - $35.00

Miles Sand & Gravel Company is seeking a Manufacturing Systems Designer. The successful candidate will provide AutoCAD drawings for new plants and plant upgrades, organize the infrastructure for the company plants and assist in related areas to assure timely repairs and installation as required.

Job Description:

Utilize and improve the AutoCAD drawing system for plant design, manufacturing and shop drawings.

Prepare and produce complex design drawings (PFD’s P&ID’s, scaled equipment details, etc.), from

sketches, concepts or mark-ups provided by project management staff.

Organize engineering, planning and implementation for equipment manufacturing.

Assist with resource allocation and vendor support as necessary to ensure uniformity and consistency

throughout the company.

Develop responsible team networks including but not limited to: procurement, maintenance, engineering,

research and development, planning.

Be willing and able to perform other duties as required.

Job Skills:

Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office Suite and possess the ability to quickly learn various software programs

that will be necessary to fulfill job requirements.

Experience with design parameters related to manufacturing processes including the ability to comprehend

and produce flow diagrams.

Knowledge of standard drafting practices and procedures.

Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills.

Critical thinking – have the ability to ask the right questions, separate facts from assumptions and determine

relevant facts in the decision making process.

Excellent planning, scheduling and logistical skills.

A self-starter who can 1) work independently, diligently and responsibly with minimal supervision 2) work as

a member of a team 3) manage their time wisely 4) multi-task 5) meet a deadline.

Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze data and make decisions.

Detail oriented, precise, inquisitive, creative, thorough, objective and a problem-solver.

Honest, responsible and trustworthy with confidential information.

The ability to represent the company in a professional and ethical manner.

Job Requirements:

Associate’s degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field, plus at least 5

years of related work experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the

required knowledge skills and abilities.

Experience in manufacturing processes, and more specifically, the ready-mix concrete and/or aggregate

production industries, is preferred.
