TITLE: Lead Ticketing Associate

SALARY:$23.00 - $27.85 per hour. Every employee upon first appointment, will start at $23.00 per hour.

OPENING DATE: 11/15/24

CLOSING DATE: 12/02/24

JOB TYPE: Regular, Full-time, FLSA non-exempt

LOCATION: On grounds 5 days/week

DEPARTMENT: Admissions

Currently, union negotiations are underway and this position will be covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay rate and benefits are subject to change based on the final bargaining outcome.

This position will average 40 hours per week. Shifts will range from starting at 9:00 am to ending at 9:00 pm, and will be an average of 8 hours long (start times may be as early as 8:00 on rare occasions to cover special events). This position will work a Thursday to Monday schedule (days off are Tuesday and Wednesday).

A Leader: You are excited by the idea of helping support your teammates. You are happy to give breaks to staff as necessary, arrange work areas, and resolve issues as necessary. You are able to adjust your communication based on subject and audience and are able to assist in training new employees.

YOUR PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sell zoo membership, general admission, and promote zoo products and experiences

Handle various payment types, operate cash registers, point of sale terminals, and maintain a cash drawer.

Expedite visitor entry, establish queuing lines, and help with crowd control in a customer friendly manner (i.e. carousel)

Provide customer service information and assistance to the public and staff in person or on the phone including: general information, educational/interpretive programs, and special events.

Ensure a safe environment for visitors, staff, and volunteers; monitor key areas and entrances and report safety concerns to supervisor in a timely manner.

Set-up, organize, arrange, and maintain any necessary equipment or program items.

Function as a parking attendant as required during peak times.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and one (1) or more years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Demonstrated good cash handling skills.

Successful applicants must live and work in Washington State to perform this role.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

Ability to work a non-standard/flexible schedule, which may include weekends, evenings, holidays, and special events.
