If you share our passion for creating an airline people love, we want to hear from you.Role SummaryThe Director, Cargo Vendor Operations sets the long-term strategy and oversees the financial performance of 70 Ground Handled Agent (GHA) operated cargo locations across the globe. As a people leader, this role establishes strategic goals and direction for a team of leaders to ensure all vendor locations are operating safely, compliantly and meeting a standard of excellence in cargo handling quality.Key Duties
Oversee all aspects of cargo vendor operations 24 hours/day with full authority to make decisions critical to business continuity, safety and regulatory compliance objectives.
Serve as a key negotiator for all vendor contracts related to warehouse, mail and freighter operations as well as any additional agreements that arise in global cargo in the US and abroad.
Partner and influence cross-divisionally with QX leaders to ensure service excellence at all Horizon Air cargo facilities.
Direct the Cargo vendor recognition program and long-term GHA service level agreements (SLA) and reward package.
Support all new cargo station openings, facility moves and vendor changes including oversight of facility planning to ensure optimum efficiency, productivity and financial performance.
Oversee the Identification and assessment of risk and non-compliance incidents and drive corrective action plans for AS station managers, regional directors, managing directors and Vice President.
Own all implementation of vendor operation plans to ensure stations meet performance objectives and compliance guidelines including relationships with senior leadership of vendor partners and TSA/FAA to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
Develop people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on fostering strategic and systems thinking, development of talent, and succession planning across teams and disciplines.
Shape culture of the team through action, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & SkillsRequired
8 years of operations management and/or regulatory compliance experience.
5 years of leadership experience, with at least 2 of those years directly leading people.
Bachelor's degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
Ability to develop new ideas to improve safety, compliance and efficiency.
Ability to present complex problems and situations to senior/executive leadership and to drive resolutions with limited guidance.
Demonstrated ability to influence and drive change cross-divisionally for mutually beneficial strategic and operational impact.
Strong communication (e.g., verbal, written, presentation) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to create collaborative relationships that drive outcomes in the best interest of the company, with others in the organization, and with key external business partners.
Innovative, apolitical, resilient, fact-based and creative solutions-focused mindset, with ability to thrive in a rapidly changing, collaborative environment and to manage conflict.

Your pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, your relevant experience/level, experience level, and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees.
