We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest.Sitting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland.Job Summary:This position is a full-time role located in the Richland, Washington project office, and works a 9/80 schedule, offering every other Friday off.

Performs a variety of Safeguards and Security (SAS) services.

Assists with SAS investigative efforts, DOE reporting, training, security awareness activities, security requirements managements, security assessments and surveys, corrective actions, and acts as liaison with Government entities and sub-contractors on badging and other security requirements.

Develops WTP policies and procedures that meet contract requirements and implements BNI best business practice.

Performs assessments to ensure project personnel are complying with security requirements and ensures Project security awareness is effective, Safeguards sensitive, Official Use Only information, and Controlled Unclassified Information.

Interfaces with WTP management/staff, DOE, and other Hanford Contractors regarding security related interests (e.g., badge approvals, policy issues, lost/stolen badges, foreign visitors).

Interfaces and provides back up support to other Safeguards and Security personnel on an as need basis to ensure appropriate coverage and compliance.

In absence of the WTP Safeguards and Security Manager, acts on their behalf in role of Project Security Manager.

#LI-TN1Major Responsibilities:

Performs a variety of Safeguards and Security (SAS) services

Assists with SAS database management, badge recover, DOE badge reconciliation, investigation efforts, DOE reporting, training, awareness activities, security assessments, and act as liaison with Government entities and sub-contractor on badging and other security requirements.

Plan, initiate, manage, and be accountable for all aspects of the physical, and information (including OPSEC), security functions of the Project in support of both internal and external customers. Ensure that appropriate corrective actions are taken to rectify security related deficiencies or findings.

Develops WTP policies and procedures that meet contract requirements and implement BNI best business practice.

Performs assessments to ensure project personnel are complying with security requirements and ensure Project security awareness is effective, Safeguard sensitive, Official Use Only, and Controlled Unclassified information.

Interfaces with WTP management/staff, DOE, and other Hanford Contractors regarding security related interests (e.g., security incidents, badge approvals, policy issues, lost/stolen badges, foreign visitors).

Acts as the subject matter expert for the electronic access control security system and associated database.

Interfaces and provides back up support to other Safeguards and Security personnel, on an as needed basis to ensure appropriate coverage and compliance.

Education and Experience Requirements:Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experienceRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.

Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.

Possess the right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.

Experience in the use of computer software products (including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).

Working knowledge of policies, procedures and requirements affecting WTP and DOE Badging, Foreign National Visits and Assignments, Operational Security including Export Control Information (ECI), Official Use Only (OUO), Controlled Unclassified Information.

Experience with development implementation of workplace violence prevention/active shooter response plans and emergency/contingency programs.

Experience and demonstrated skill in conducting research, investigations, and assessments.

Good written and oral communication skills.

Solid reasoning skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

Able to utilize a variety of WTP and Safeguards and Security computer programs.

Experience in the development of procedures.

Possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and customer service.

Demonstrated ability to work with people of varied backgrounds and objectives.

Flexibility to respond to urgent project requests and/or changing priorities.
