RCT's provide contamination and radiation exposure control. Perform surveys where procedures have been established. Duties may include working with routine and/or special detection equipment. Perform qualitative mask fit for radiological protection. As assigned by management: perform special studies in the evaluation of radiological protection for personnel, environmental, or plant areas; participate in area specific radiation worker qualification and requalification programs; prepare and maintain records and documentation as appropriate; and provide assistance in the preparation of radiation control documents such as Radiological Work Permits (RWP's), ALARA Management Worksheets (AMW's), etc.Must certify and maintain RCT certification in accordance with the terms of Part 5. (Training and Certification Program).Required QualificationsAn academic degree in physical science (e.g., AA degree in Health Physics) or the equivalent education and/or radiological experience or a High School Diploma or equivalent, and of one year Health Physics Technician (HPT) or Radiological Control Technician (RCT) experience.Desired Qualifications-National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologists (NRRPT).-DOE Core CardCompensation & BenefitsEntry Level Hourly Rate: $35.270Top Level Hourly Rate: $50.384In accordance with the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), the salary offered for this position will be reflective of the assigned job classification and associated wage scale. Actual placement on the wage scale will be based on a candidate's education, training and/or experience.
