Title Manager, Projects & Retrieval Maintenance Position Number 39103 Company WA River Protection Solutions City/State Richland, WA Location 200E Tank Farms Posted 05/30/2024 Closes 06/13/2024 Regular/Temporary Regular Full/Part-Time Full-Time Job Responsibilities/DutiesThe Maintenance organization at Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) is seeking a Manager for the Projects/Retrieval Maintenance group.The Projects/Retrieval Maintenance Manager defines, documents, and communicates policies, objectives, performance measures, and management expectations to Area personnel.

Ensure support personnel follow Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H) policy.

Demonstrates safety ownership through development and maintenance of project specific maintenance documents and programs.

Provides direction and oversight of personnel to meet goals in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner in accordance with all applicable requirements, including nuclear safety requirements, QA, occupational safety, environmental, radiological safety, and safeguards and security.

Provide assistance to the area manager for completion of work activities that support the long-term program mission for WRPS, including operations, maintenance, engineering, and training.

Conduct management oversight function in respective areas to ensure area project priorities are identified and balanced.

Ensures activities are planned and needed resources are provided to meet stated objectives.

Ensures processes to identify hazards are implemented.

Ensures maintenance on work-related documents are prepared and used to provide appropriate work direction and to ensure work is performed safely and efficiently.

Provides leadership and oversight of resources for participation in the job hazard analysis and other hazard identification processes.

Provides appropriate training to instruct personnel on hazard identification techniques.

Interfaces with Operations, ES&H, and RADCON organizations to ensure applicable requirements are incorporated into approved work packages.

Ensures engineered system incorporate appropriate controls and system for safe and compliant operation.

Ensures all work within assigned area is performed within regulatory compliance, radiological controls, QA, engineering, and configuration control requirements.

Conveys safety expectations to project personnel (including STOP work).

Provides timely day-to-day technical support to maintenance activities.

Ensures personnel are trained commensurate with responsibilities and assigned to area teams in a timely manner.

Conducts regular safety meeting and briefings allowing for employee feedback on safety and environmental issues.

Follows up on all accidents, environmental non-compliances, and adverse trends affecting operations to identify opportunities for improvement.

Ensures the Problem Evaluation Request (PER) program is implemented.

Manage resources supporting resolution of corrective maintenance, preventative maintenance, and upgrade project issues in a timely manner to support day to day continued operation.

Evaluates project and equipment performance, troubleshoots operational anomalies, and assesses plant conditions and events.

Supports the employee safety councils.

Encourages worker feedback through routine staff meetings, post-job reviews, open door policy, lessons learned, etc.

Incorporates feedback to accomplish continuous improvements.

Support management in developing appropriate interface agreements and documents with other Hanford Contractors.

On call for maintenance emergencies as needed.

Required QualificationsGrade 20:Bachelor's degree in construction management or related discipline and 10 years' directly related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.Grade 21:Bachelor's degree in construction management or related discipline and 12 years' directly related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.Desired Qualifications

Tank Farms experience.

Experience in managing both the Building Trades and HAMTC unions.
