Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Public Staff Tax Accountant in Renton, Washington. This role will be instrumental in managing tax preparation and planning services for our diverse clients, spanning multiple industries. The Tax Accountant will be tasked with providing accurate, professional, and timely tax services, ensuring compliance with legislation and regulations. Responsibilities: Analyze and collect necessary information for the preparation of federal, state, and local tax documents. Manage tax control accounts by calculating and entering adjustments. Propose strategies to decrease tax liability and identify opportunities for tax savings. Analyze business transactions for tax reporting purposes, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Collaborate with tax authorities on audit-related inquiries, ensuring clear and accurate correspondence. Stay updated with industry knowledge by attending educational workshops and reading professional publications. Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing tasks as needed, fostering a collaborative work environment. Guide management on tax strategies and planning, providing expert advice for informed decision making. Ensure compliance with taxation legislation and regulations, upholding the highest standards of professionalism. Use relevant software such as CCH ProSystem Fx, CCH Sales Tax, Gosystem, Management System, and Microsoft Excel to perform accounting functions and auditing tasks. Requirements Proficiency in CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax. Experience with Gosystem and other Management Systems. Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Extensive knowledge of Accounting Functions. Experience with Auditing processes. Ability to manage Cash Activity efficiently. Strong understanding of Compliance requirements in the field of taxation. Excellent Customer Service skills. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. CPA certification is preferred. At least 2 years of experience in public accounting or similar work environment. Strong analytical, problem solving and research skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws.
