Description NOTE: This is an on-site role, requiring a candidate open to working on-site 5 days a week and willing to commute to the Bellevue/Eastside area. We are seeking an Operations Support team member to support and sustain the research and development environment for one of our clients on-site labs. This position will require an individual who completes tasks without supervision, can scope simple projects, work within company security guidelines and can set priorities for other team members. This role will have reliance on someone who is an effective communicator who excels at troubleshooting to identify root causes and knows to escalate when stuck. There is a focus on creating/updating documentation within the teams area of support.Day to day work will entail:
Managing support requests and ensuring SLA's are met. Understanding of standard IT infrastructure components. Ability to triage and prioritize according to impact statements and documented SLAs.
Incident Management. Triages individual incidents after the failure of automated recovery efforts. Troubleshoots undocumented problems using both industry experience and standard IT troubleshooting methodologies. Performs daily updates of all incidents and performs daily accounting of labor. Creates new documentation following structured processes. Updates and peer reviews existing documentation. Owns incident lifecycle, including triaging, assigning, troubleshooting, and resolution.
Infrastructure Support. Performs new bare-metal hardware deployments, relocations, upgrades, reconfigurations, and decommissions, including but not limited to racks, rails, benches, shelves, servers, TORs, KVMs, power poles, and all applicable cables. Performs daily walk-throughs of lab spaces to identify and log infrastructure problems. Deploys bare-metal images and configurations using both manual and native automated processes. Performs monthly security patching and security compliance checks.
Asset Management. Responsible for the accounting and associations of all inventories. Manages equipment receiving processes and initial entry into inventory. Ensures item names, asset numbers, serial numbers, and all expected metadata is correct. Updates inventory for any change of state of assets, including renames, relocations, or decommissions. Ensures the association of assets to service teams are correct.
Requirements
3 or more years using MS office while engaging in written, professional communication.3 or more years of experience with incident management within an IT support role. Windows Server and Windows Desktop support (MCDST/ MTA IT infrastructure certs) or equivalent certification.3 or more years of experience within an IT operations role. Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, or similar certification. A+ or similar certification.
