DESCRIPTION
Job summaryProject Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.Key job responsibilitiesCome solve the difficult and rewarding electrical engineering challenges in defining a highly reliable, power efficient, low cost satellite bus. Tasks range across a wide array of areas, from board design to component selection to layout review to board bring-up and test. You will be responsible for high quality design innovation, developing reliable solutions, meeting top level requirements, and helping other Project Kuiper colleagues with reviewing and improving board designs. You will have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams at Amazon in different locations. You should be comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and relish the idea of solving problems that haven't been solved at scale before. Along the way, we guarantee that you will learn a lot, have fun and make a positive impact on millions of people.A day in the lifeTasks range across a wide array of areas, including component selection, circuit simulation, schematic design, PCB design, bring-up, verification, and debug. You will also be responsible for working across disciplines with the rest of the system to ensure the success of the Electrical Engineering Hardware Design team. We design for space, so we also have unique design challenges related to thermals, radiation, and reliability. About the teamThe Senior Electrical Engineer will be a member of the electrical engineering hardware design team, focusing on the design of the various compute, communication, sensing and control needs (inertial, optical, solar, etc.) of the satellite system. They will be expected to lead a variety of tasks, from board design and component selection, to layout review and board bring-up and test.Security Clearance: Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance of TS/SCI, so you must be a U.S. citizen for consideration.
