To achieve this goal, the Hardware, Infrastructure Management, and Fundamentals Engineering (HIFE) team is instrumental in defining and delivering operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing, improving the planning process, quality, delivery, scale and sustainability related to Microsoft cloud hardware. We are looking for seasoned Quality leader with a dedicated passion for customer focused solutions, insight and industry knowledge to envision and implement future technical solutions that will manage and optimize the Cloud infrastructure.We are looking for a Senior Director, Quality Engineering to join the team.Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. Build and lead a team of system integration and manufacturing Quality engineers.

Provide leadership in driving technical solutions throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) cycle, influence product architecture, and deliver on quality and reliability goals.

Enable system level discussions, influencing architecture of our products, and delivering product goals across quality and reliability.

Measure and improve quality performance across the platform, suppliers, factory, and data center.

Partner with supplier leaders to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Define and execute quality strategy and initiatives with various stakeholders, using world-class Objective Key Results (OKRs) to drive results.

Handle major quality issues worldwide and communicate clearly with executives.

QualificationsRequired/Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 11+ years technical engineering experience

OR Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience

OR Doctorate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience.

10 + years of experience working with multiple teams on Root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and debugging skills resulting in solving complex Hardware/Firmware interface issues.

10 + years of experience working in the semiconductor industry.

7+ years of people management experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening reqirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 15+ years technical engineering experience

OR Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 13+ years technical engineering experience

OR Doctorate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience.

10+ years people management experience

10+ experience in server industry.

10 years of experience in quality engineering, leading the teams as well as technical task force.

Reliability Engineering M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $158,500 - $276,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $202,800 - $304,200 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
