Job Title: EDM Machinist-4 Job Code: 16319 Job Location: Redmond, WA Job Schedule: 4/10 (Mondays - Thursdays 5:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m) Job Description: We are seeking a top-level precision EDM Machinist to join our Machine Shop in Redmond, Washington. Under direction of the Machine Shop Supervisor, Lead or designee, the Machinist will perform set-ups and machining of close tolerance aerospace hardware on sinker and small hole EDMs. In our Redmond, WA site (Seattle area), we fabricate, assemble, and test chemical and electric thrusters, as well as small scale propulsion systems. Our electric propulsion systems enable a wide variety of missions from the exploration of our solar system to global communication and the surveillance of severe weather and wild fires. Essential Functions:
Reading and understanding engineered drawings and blueprints with a deep understanding of GD&T
Reading and following production planning.
Running jobs close to tolerances of +/- .0001".
Maintaining a rejection rate of less than 1%.
Using precision measuring instruments to check work.
Setting up and running electrical discharge machines.
Setting up and running manual and/or NC mills and lathes to fabricate electrodes.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior machining experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior machining experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
6+ years EDM experience.
10+ years of close tolerance manual/CNC machining.
Knowledge of machining materials such as aluminum, tool, alloy, carbon steels, stainless steel, titanium, plastics and Inconel is preferred.
Must understand and be able to use trigonometry.
Requires the willingness and ability to work overtime as necessary.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $28.13/hr MIN - $52.16/hr MAX.
