You will act as the primary employment law advisor on global people programs.

You will advise on the labor and employment implications of Human Resources projects and programs (e.g., Mergers and Acquisitions, Privacy, Background Screening, etc.) and business initiatives. This includes employment law advice on:

Project development and implementation strategy, including principles and frameworks, communications, timelines, and trainings.

Compliance with evolving global laws, consistency with corporate standards, and assessing the impact of novel issues.

You will identify and anticipate employment law risk in the programs and projects within your remit and propose solutions to mitigate future risk.

You will interact with outside counsel or other service providers to create global legal surveys, synthesize legal advice across geographies, and address and resolve project-specific legal issues.

You will conduct, review, interpret, and analyze legal advice and maintaina basic understanding of global labor and employment law principles.

You will identify and implement processesand tools to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness, including client and internal resources.

You will identifyand engage appropriate stakeholders in CELA, HR, and the business to escalate issues and make connections across bodies of work, using written and oral communication skills to articulate recommendations and provide options on complex legal issues.

You will collaborate and partner effectively across teams to provide client service in a high volume and fast-paced environment.

Juris Doctorate Degree or Equivalent International Degree

OR Completion of a Legal Apprenticeship.

Active license to practice law in a jurisdiction and capable of meeting admission requirements in relevant jurisdiction.

3+ years experience as a practicing attorney

OR equivalent practice of law.

Experience with programmatic implementation regarding employment law matters and advising technology clients on employment and labor law matters

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

Law firm experience or in-house counsel experience

Experience advising on U.S. and international labor and employment law issues, such as employee privacy, M&A, works councils and other international labor relations issues, non-competes, and multi-jurisdictional compliance issues

Experience advising on large-scale programs for a global company, including balancing and advising on complex legal and business considerations, ensuring timely completion of deliverable deadlines, and communicating with stakeholders

Legal Counsel IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $101,200 - $194,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $130,000 - $213,200 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
