Professional (+) (Fixed Term)Position Details:Summary of Duties:The 4-H Program Coordinator provides leadership, coordination, and administration for the King County 4-H Youth Development Program, which serves 400 youth members through community clubs, supports 150 certified volunteers, and delivers youth outreach programming. This position is primarily responsible for volunteer administration and program administration under the direction of the Washington State University (WSU) Extension King County Director and as a part of the 4-H team. Additional responsibilities include event planning, resource management, and communication with volunteers, youth, families, and community partners, particularly underserved and new audiences. This role requires a commitment to positive youth development, volunteer empowerment, and collaborative work. The ideal candidate will be creative, self-motivated, and an effective communicator with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Required Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant extension program discipline and two (2) years of related program experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with https://policies.wsu.edu/prf/index/manuals/safety-policies-procedures-manual/sppm-7-10/#four3 and departmental driving standards. Ability to travel within targeted counties. While using a private or WSU-owned vehicle for official business, must have current automobile liability insurance (meeting the requirements described in https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=46.30.020https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=46.30.020 and https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=46.29.090https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=46.29.090). Ability to work a flexible, yet structured schedule with occasional night and weekend shifts to meet the needs of program partners and grant requirements. Employment is contingent upon passing a background screening.Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively, with persons of varying levels of responsibility and experience, both orally and in writingAdditional Information:This is a full time (100% FTE), temporary position. This position is overtime eligible.Temporary End Date: This is a temporary position expected to end December 31, 2025. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.
