Job Title: Van Systems Tech
Reports to: Custom Director
Location: Port Townsend, Washington
Job Summary
Camp N Car is seeking a Van Systems Tech to lead the installation of essential systems for our camper conversions, including 12-volt electrical systems, plumbing, toilets, showers, sinks, and more. This dynamic role involves working closely with our custom conversions team to create durable, comfortable campers that enhance our customers' adventures.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Custom Shop team on custom van and vehicle camper projects.
- Specialize in installing and repairing electrical systems and appliances in various vehicles, including vans, cars, RVs, trailers, and truck campers.
- Install and inspect plumbing systems to ensure proper function and safety.
- Continuously improve your skills and knowledge in van system installations.
- Maintain shop cleanliness, perform tool maintenance, and contribute to infrastructure improvements for better workflow and efficiency.
- Track and report time and material expenses accurately for each project.
- Contribute to the design and functionality of all Camp N Car custom conversions.
Requirements
Experience with off-grid electrical and 12V systems is essential, along with familiarity with plumbing. Ideal candidates have experience in van conversions, but past work with boats, tiny homes, or similar dwellings is also acceptable.

Compensation & Benefits
- Starting pay ranges between $25 - $30 an hour depending on experience
- Pay after 1-2 years has the potential to increase to $30 - $40 an hour

Schedule
- 4-day work weeks with the potential to increase to 5-day work weeks if desired.
- Work days start at 9:00 AM and end at 5:00 PM with unpaid lunch and paid breaks.
